The Indian Media & Entertainment (M&E) Industry has been steadily growing on the back of strong economic fundamentals, steady growth in domestic consumption and the growing contribution of rural markets across key segments of the industry. The long-term outlook in India is extremely positive on the back of growing rural demand, increasing digital access and consumption, and the expected culmination of the digitization process of television distribution. The future of the M&E Industry indeed revolves around digitization. Indian companies are looking for new technologies, knowledge transfer, skills and best practices that can be acquired through partnerships with established companies globally and specifically from British Columbia.
The Canada-India Business Council in collaboration with Creative BC is hosting the second BC-India Partnership Summit on September 19th, 2017. The focus of this year’s summit is Digital Media and Entertainment (DM&E).

BC offers an ideal ecosystem for growth in this sector, including talent and work force, thriving research and education support, government incentives, a Pacific Time zone and a great place to live and work. The Summit brings together BC companies with Indian industry to discuss opportunities that exist on both sides of the border.
