Ed Legzdins is Senior Vice-President and Managing Director, International with BMO Financial Group. Ed led the establishment of BMO’s wholly-owned banking subsidiary in China (BMO ChinaCo) and is now Supervisor of the Board of Directors. He also led initiatives to acquire an equity position in one of China’s premier fund management companies, Fullgoal Fund Management Company, located in Shanghai, and sits on its Board of Directors, as well as an equity position in COFCO Trust, a Chinese wealth management company on whose board he sits. Ed is also Vice-Chair and Director of the Canada China Business Council and a Director of the Canada-India Business Council. From 2005 to 2012, Ed served as a director (and subsequently Vice-Chair) of the Mutual Fund Dealers Association of Canada (the self-regulatory organization) and of the Ombudsman for Banking Services and Investments. From 1999 to 2011, Ed was CEO of BMO Investments Inc., the mutual fund manufacturer and dealer subsidiary of BMO Financial Group. Ed also oversaw the delivery of financial planning capabilities through BMO's branch network, as well as its deposit-gathering business.
Ed holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from University of Toronto and is a Chartered Professional Accountant.
