The Canada-India Business Council successfully hosted the 2nd Annual "Canada-India Partnership Summit on June 3rd, 2016 at the Westin Harbour Castle in Toronto.
Hon. Chrysita Freeland, the Federal Minister of International Trade spoke about the newly elected Government's commitment to significantly increase economic ties between Canada and India as one their top priorities moving forward.
Hon. Michael Chan, the Minister of Citizenship, Immigration and International Trade of Ontario, Dinesh Bhatia, Consul General of India in Toronto, Don Stewart, Former CEO of Sun Life Financial, and Deepak Chopra, the President and CEO of Canada Post also spoke about the tremendous potential between Canada and India.
Experts from all levels of government and industry discussed the sectors which represent both "Emerging" and "Leadership" opportunities for trade, investment and co-development between Canada and India, as well as the role that government plats in helping Canadians capatalize on these opportunities. The panels discussed areas such as Smart Cities, Infrastructure, Green-Tech, Agriculture, Education and Resources.

Panelists discussed the areas of Smart Cities, Infrastructure and Green-tech. These sectors represent significant opportunities for Canadian investment and trade as India continues to experience rapid growth.

Panel: Leadership Opportunities
Panelists discussed the areas of Agriculture, Education and Resources. These sectors represent opportunities for Canada o leverage their stregnths and become a top 3 partner with India in each sector in the immediate future.
Panelists identified the barriers and challenges that must be addressed in order to facilitate higher trade/investment volume in these areas.
